hi there!

I am so glad you’re here! I’m Erica, capturer of love + growing families, lover of earth tones, and constantly chasing a moody overcast sky just as much as a golden sunset. I have been at this photography thing for almost 12 years now. If you have been perusing my social media or website and you have seen a lot of talk about Bloomington and a lot of talk about Danville, you might be wondering where the heck I am based out of? The answer is both. Kind of. I am born and raised in Bloomington, which is where my photography business was born, but we moved to the Danville area 9 years ago. I am lucky enough to have so many wonderful clients in the Bloomington area, where I travel down here and there for sessions, but also so many amazing clients in the indy area, where I am a member of a studio in Danville. The best of both worlds, for sure.

a little about me—

I am a 30 something wife + a mama of 3 kids. When I'm not shooting or editing, you can find me spending quality time with my family, (hiking, hitting up a brewery or shooting hoops with the kids are some of our favorite things), and occasionally (probably more than i'd like to admit) wandering around Target buying all the things. I love to read and I love to workout. Weightlifting and long walks while listening to true crime podcasts are my favorite. I never liked coffee until a few years ago and now I love a cup of black coffee or an americano every single morning. I have a very eclectic music style, some days you’ll catch me listening to Jason Isbell, other days it’s The Cranberries or early 2000’s rap. In 2018 I found out I carry the BRCA-1 gene, and in 2020 I had a preventative double mastectomy + diep flap reconstruction and at the end of 2023 had an oophorectomy. Preventative health has become a passion of mine, so if you ever have questions, feel free to reach out.

My husband and I have been together for over 15 years (married 14 this year!). He is my biggest supporter in this photography endeavor and in life in general. There is truly no way I would have my business without him.

I’m a firm believer in community over competition, whether in the photography community or just the creative world in general, and love getting to know and support other artists. A lot of my friends own small shops or businssses and it truly brings me joy to share their creations with others because they are all so talented.

how it started ::

I started to dabble in photography when my oldest (who is almost 13) was around a year old. I knew absolutely nothing except how to turn on my camera and take a picture on auto. I have taught myself everything I know from light to camera settings to posing to editing. I went from taking photos of my son, to friend’s kiddos and then friends of friends and so on. I finally turned it into a business and here I am. It lit such a fire in me. I have put literal blood, sweat, and tears into what I do, and I’m so thankful for the opportunity to capture these moments for so many of you.

If you’re looking for someone that is going to get that shot with everyone smiling and looking at the camera in every image, I’m not your girl. I live for the in-between stuff. The magic in the mundane. Tangibly documenting moments. I want your session to be unique to you. My hope is to create timeless images that you will look at years down the road and be filled with all of the nostalgia + emotions that you felt in that exact moment.

Thanks so much for being here //

Let’s create something beautiful together.
